DELL EQUALLOGIC SAN PS6000 STORAGE specification: Processor:
The firm announced its five new EqualLogic PS6000 storage arrays – the PS6000E, PS6500E, PS6000X, PS6000XV and PS6000S – this morning in San Francisco, noting they integrated 'seamlessly' into existing EqualLogic storage area networks (SANs) and formed something of a 'virtualised pool of storage'.
Dell reckons the PS6000 series is some 91 per cent faster for sequential write workloads and up to 29 per cent faster for sequential read workloads when compared with its previous generation.
The PS6000 series can also apparently support over 500 TB of storage per PS Series group, which is rather impressive.
Of course, not wanting to miss out on the buzz-word 'virtualisation', Dell also pointed out its EqualLogic PS6000 series were VMware vStorage-ready and also supported Microsoft Hyper-V Smart.
