The term Holi is derived from the name of Holika, the evil demon who planned to **** her nephew by sitting on a bonfire without being aware that she would be burnt to ashes. From this incident till now in this modern era a bonfire named Holika is burnt to celebrate Good over Evil. In this festival of colours, everyone enjoys themselves despite of caste, gender and creed and forget about the past grievances that had happened.
